After a few month long break, our 2021 racing season began on April 18 with the 1st Therwoolin Boldogkő Rally.
We had an exciting race: we started with a new car, on new stages, in a new brand cup for us, in the field of the Peugeot 208 Rally Cup Hungary, with my co-driver Notheisz Ivett, with whom we finished in third place. And in the 2WD category, we finished fifth overall. The whole competition was about learning, gaining experience, getting used to it for us. We had only a short test before the race so we didn’t know how it was going to behave on the fast-paced, throwing stages that were full of their speed this weekend. Nine stages were waiting for us, we had to complete the same three stages three times.
During the first loop I started to get used to the movement of the car, then for the second loop we set it up a bit, which made it even better, so I trusted it more and more. Our primary goal was to improve round and round relative to ourselves and then to maintain our podium position. Circumstances were quite variable, which did not make things easier for the riders. Since we were able to use eight Pirelli tires in one race, we also had to pay close attention to the rubber tactics. We had a good time, there are strong competitors in the cup who are constantly encouraging development. The team and service background were professional this time as well.
